Recently, China Steel Association releases a steel development layout, which has forecasted Chinese steel development in the period of Twelfth Five-Year Plan. Accordingly, Chinese high-strength bar consumption will reach 112 million metric tons in 2015 from 56.5 million metric tons in 2010. Meanwhile, the bearing steel and pinion steel consumptions will amount to 5 million t and 2.5 million t in 2015.
Besides, the report also predicted that China's stainless steel consumption is going to hit a record high of 16 million t in 2015, up from 9.4 million t in 2010. In addition, the CR automotive plates and galvanized sheets consumptions will come to 14 million t in 2015 from the level of 8.35 million t in 2010.
All the above figures have signified a prosperous outlook for Chinese special steel demand in the period of Twelfth Five-Year Plan. And this could act as a good reference for the steelmakers to make any long term decisions.
